Introducing one of the Participation Souvenirs for the Kyoto Marathon 2027: the Original Neck Gaiter!
The neck gaiter was designed by Kimura Sensho Co., Ltd., a company dedicated to preserving and passing on the tradition of hand-painted Kyoto Yuzen to future generations.

The design incorporates sarasa prints and distinctive motifs that were popular on clothing during the Kan’ei era (1624–1644), combining them in a color scheme centered on purple, the symbolic color of Kyoto City.
Following the end of the Warring States period and the restoration of peace and stability, the Kan’ei era saw the flourishing of a refined aesthetic centered on miyabi (courtly elegance), while exotic designs—including sarasa prints—captivated people’s imaginations.
This neck gaiter reinterprets that splendor and elegance into a more contemporary style to commemorate the 400th Anniversary of the Kan’ei Imperial Procession.
