[Design]
To commemorate the 400th anniversary of the Kan’ei Imperial Procession, we incorporated patterns reminiscent of early Edo-period textiles and exotic sarasa designs into a traditional kire-dori arrangement.
Kire-dori refers to a design composition in which various patterns and fabrics are combined in a patchwork-like style, and the phrase “京を走る(Running Through Kyoto)” and the event logo are boldly placed in the center.
The dynamic composition, with patterns transitioning diagonally across the design, conveys a sense of the runners’ speed as they race through the city.
